An enemy who committed war crimes against our people, resorting to provocations and cruelty, who could not stand the victorious march of the Azerbaijani army.
During the Patriotic War, 2,783 servicemen of our Armed Forces were killed, more than a hundred went missing, and more than a thousand of our servicemen were injured and lost their health.
At the cost of the blood and lives of our martyrs, soldiers, officers, and veterans, our occupied lands were liberated. Azerbaijan always appreciates the courage of its fighting sons and daughters, honors the souls of all our martyrs, and honors their memory.
As a sign of deep respect for our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War, waved the Azerbaijani flag on our lands liberated from occupation, and gave their lives for the territorial integrity of our country, by all our Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, Every year on September 27, it was decided to celebrate it as the Day of Remembrance in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 3, 2020, on December 4, 2020, at midnight a minute of silence was announced in the country in memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War.
